Photo Recap: Celebrating the Conclusion of the NRW-USA Year at the German Embassy in Washington

To mark the festive conclusion of the NRW-USA Year, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the German Embassy hosted a joint reception in Washington, D.C. on September 25, 2024, in celebration of German Unity Day. Around 2,500 guests gathered in the U.S. capital to honor the transatlantic partnership and officially close the anniversary year on the American side. Among the participants were NRW.Global Business and Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, both showcasing the state’s economic and athletic strengths.

A delegation from North Rhine-Westphalia, led by Minister Nathanael Liminski, used the visit—just weeks before the U.S. presidential election—to carry forward key political and social impulses from the NRW-USA Year.
