Düsseldorf and North America have a shared passion in ice hockey, which serves as another bridge for commonality and comradery across the Atlantic. During these turbulent geopolitical times, such links that bring our peoples and societies together, are all the more essential and valuable.

With this in mind, the US Consulate General in Düsseldorf is proud to cooperate with the Consulate of Canada and the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia to organize the very first DEG North America Day as part of the #NRWUSA Year.

For this occasion, we cordially invite all staff of American companies in NRW along with families to a special ice hockey event on January 30, 2024, where the Düsseldorfer EG will face off against the Eisbären Berlin at Düsseldorf’s PSD BANK DOME at 7:30 p.m.

All members of your company and their families can buy discounted tickets priced at 12€, a significant reduction from the usual 27€ price.

You and your colleagues will have to register once and can use the promotion code for tickets in the Categories 3-5 for the game mentioned.

Players from the USA and Canada play crucial roles in both teams, just like North American businesses play crucial roles in the German economy. As we honor these contributions, we look forward to welcoming you on this first DEG North American Day.

To enrich the program, the State Police Orchestra NRW will play the anthems of both North American nations. Henri Proulx of Canada and Consul General Pauline Kao of the United States will join the celebration.

Whether it is poutine from Canada, or hotdogs from the United States: fans will be able to enjoy treats prepared for this day only to highlight the cultural experience we hope to offer alongside a thrilling game – fingers crossed!
