Reception of partner city Lancaster/Wisconsin

The Heidener Musikkapelle soon wished to visit Lancaster. This took place in 1995. Since then there has been a lively exchange among the musicians. Student exchanges in America followed.

During a visit of members of the band in Lancaster in 2007, the City of Lancaster, in the person of Mayor Jerome H. (Jerry) Wehrle, expressed the desire to establish an official partnership with Heiden. On May 11, 2010, the Council adopted the official partnership in the Session Deed 051/2010.

The partnership is intended to develop the City of Lancaster and the Municipality of Heiden on the basis of friendly cooperation, equality as well as mutual benefit in order to promote and expand cultural, economic and trade relations between the two cities. In addition, in order to promote their prosperity and further deepen the friendship between the people of the two countries, they are planned to engage in wide-ranging exchanges in fields such as education, science, technology, sports and health, among others.

We are happy that this year, 25 friends from Lancaster will visit us in Heiden. In addition to the official program, a visit to the 360-degree Energy Worlds is also on the agenda. This is an exhibition inside a wind turbine. Since Heiden is strong in the field of renewable energy, this will be a focus of the visit.
