A Transatlantic Fireside Chat – Real-World Innovations of AI
These robust ecosystems foster cooperation and innovation in both cities. Pittsburgh proudly introduced the world’s first autonomous car, while Dortmund excels with the Lamarr Institute for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, one of only five research institutes of its kind nationwide.
During the kickoff event of Digital Week Dortmund 2023 (#DIWODO), experts from both sides of the Atlantic will engage in an engaging Fireside Chat in the unique setting of the DASA Machine Hall. Dr. Rebecca Nugent from Carnegie Mellon University, Dr. Eva Schmidt, a philosopher at TU Dortmund and Chair and researcher at the Lamarr Institute for Machine Learning and AI, and Dr. Sebastian Buschjäger, a researcher and coordinator for Resource-Aware Machine Learning, will discuss not only the commonalities and differences between the USA and Germany but also the challenges and opportunities presented by this technology. They will also explore future visions and prospects for transatlantic cooperation in the field of science.
Join us for this exciting exchange to gain fresh perspectives on AI, and afterward, be part of the DIVR Award ceremony, where seven awards will be presented to universities for their research in the XR field.
