The agreement establishes clear guidelines for exchange between the two universities, allowing students from both countries to earn a bachelor’s degree. German students can pursue a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on International Business and Economics at Fitchburg State University, while American students can obtain a Bachelor of Arts in International Business Administration at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences.

Prof. Dr. Oliver Locker-Grütjen, President of Rhein-Waal University, expresses his joy: “The cities of Fitchburg and Kleve have been partners for over 30 years, fostering friendly relations between the Lower Rhine region and Massachusetts. I am pleased that we are now taking another step in the collaboration between the two educational institutions to deepen relationships and enhance exchange opportunities.”

Dr. Richard S. Lapidus, President of Fitchburg State University, also sees this as a mutually beneficial relationship, stating, “Our students and faculty have participated in significant interactions, both in person and in the virtual space. This new agreement provides clear pathways for students from both countries to acquire strong academic qualifications and creates tremendous opportunities for our future graduates.”
