International business conference

It is organized every two years by IHK NRW e.V., whose members comprise the 16 chambers of industry and commerce in NRW. Under the project management of IHK Düsseldorf, AWT23 will take place on 21 September 2023 in Düsseldorf under the motto “International – Sustainable – Successful”. It will convene in the Congress Center Düsseldorf (CCD) and turn into a meeting place for more than 1,000 participants from companies, consular corps, the foreign chambers of commerce as well as representatives from politics and administration. An accompanying trade exhibition will provide the framework for a complementary high-caliber and diverse program: with presentations, panels, interviews and many opportunities for networking.

Four representatives of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad in the USA are attending as special guests. Representing their New York, Chicago, Atlanta and San Francisco offices, they will be available for one-on-one consultations in the AHK Lounge. In addition, a panel will focus solely on the topic of the USA. Due to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of the U.S. government, green technologies such as wind power, hydrogen, battery technology and sustainable infrastructure are unleashing tremendous momentum. The growth prospects, especially in the green tech industries, are very positive for the future with strong incentive to invest. Additionally, companies, such as those from the strong NRW sectors of chemicals or mechanical and plant engineering, can benefit from the U.S. subsidy programs if certain conditions are met and the companies position themselves accordingly. During the panel, entrepreneurs and experts will discuss the opportunities for green technologies in the U.S. market and how companies can use the investment incentives to strengthen and expand their international business.
